Why do I need an Approved Supplier Program?

An Approved Supplier Program, 5.0 - Approved Supplier Program, documents the steps you have taken to ensure that product you purchase from a supplier meets all requirements of the Food Standards Code, 3.2.2 Division 3 (5) Food Receipt.

This process is required by all State Food Regulators, and may be as simple as a current list of suppliers, Products they supply, their Australian address details and phone number. However to ensure due diligence, it is good practice to maintain up to date history of their HACCP Accreditation (If Applicable), Public/Products Liability Insurances, Product and labelling Specifications, Transport Requirements etc.
